about

The parable of the Three Fates, while a fascinatingly fitting image, offers an even greater hidden lesson: the dangers of viewing life too linearly.

This song suggests that you picture that string pulled tight. Your path is set. The span is already determined. And spectral scissors await you at the end. But there is a surprise variation to the theme, and we’ve all experienced it… The Vertical Path.

It’s that moment of perfect clarity; perhaps found while watching a sunset, hiking in the wilderness, or holding your newborn baby. Time stands still, and you feel yourself expanding from within. At that moment, you’ve stopped traversing the string and you are now exploring the unfamiliar spaces that surround it. You have essentially popped from two dimensions to three. For most of us, it only lasts a moment, and is a rare occurrence. For those who feel it deeply, it’s the space they would happily dwell in forever.

Most interesting is the discovery that the longer and more frequently you exist in that space, the easier it becomes to separate from the string in the future. It’s like you start to figure out how the illusion works. Quite a wonderful benefit to stopping your unconscious trajectory down the string, and just exploring this moment.

I hope you enjoy my latest creation, ‘The Vertical Path’. :)

about

GrevusAnjl

Welcome to my sonic playground. I don't consider myself a skilled musician. I just sculpt sounds to quiet my mind... and often end up pleasantly surprised. I'm all about joy, and silliness, and staying playful as I (refuse to) grow older. My songs help me remember that. :)

Thank you for taking the time to listen and share in my journey. Best wishes and all my love.
