about

Humans have a strange need to preserve our differences rather than celebrate our commonalities; separation versus unity. This is probably just a survival technique of the ego, but it fails to serve the bigger picture: life in its entirety. Perhaps we need to break down these antiquated ideas.

If you're looking for a fun and friendly way out of this old thinking, a way to see 'same' rather than 'different’… look no further than your own bodies. This form of ours is not as 'separate' as we think. In fact, we are built entirely of recycled materials.

We have an unbelievably large number of atoms making up our bodies (estimated 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000). And despite being as old as the Universe itself, they don’t stay with us our whole lives. In fact, these atoms visit us only briefly before moving on to their next hip, cool adventure. (Put bluntly… the majority of your body is less than a year old, despite your calendar age.)

The amazing thing is, you can experience this atom swap yourself, right now, with minimal effort.

Breath in... now breath out.

You just replaced 10 billion trillion atoms.

At the simplest level, the closer something is to me, both in space and time, the more atoms we exchange. My neighbor and I are sharing a lot more than recipes and lawnmowers. And truth be told, everyone and everything on this planet is my neighbor in this regard.

So it's rather silly seeing other people as ‘other’. It’s pointless to distance myself from the weeds in my yard, or the rock I stubbed my toe on. We are already atomic pals, enjoying an effective exchange program.

Atoms are perfectly content doing what they're doing; unbiased in who or what they serve. And they are a constant reminder of our ultimate connectedness. This is a beautiful, timeless truth; and a great reason to be more loving and accepting of each other, and all things. It’s definitely something worth thinking about. I hope you enjoy my latest creation, 'One'. :)

GrevusAnjl

Welcome to my sonic playground. I don't consider myself a skilled musician. I just sculpt sounds to quiet my mind... and often end up pleasantly surprised. I'm all about joy, and silliness, and staying playful as I (refuse to) grow older. My songs help me remember that. :)

Thank you for taking the time to listen and share in my journey. Best wishes and all my love.
