Greetings my dear friends. I’m going to forego my usual philosophical message (with all the mega-syllabic, esoteric words) this time… and just offer you a very simple thank you. Because without your support, kindness and generosity… I wouldn’t be here right now.
When I started making music back in 2006 (cracking open GarageBand for the first time), I was only ever hoping to find a new hobby. I was just looking for a new creative outlet to help me center myself (writing, drawing and painting never fully satisfied that itch). Wonderfully, music proved to be my ideal flavor of meditation very early on.
10 years later, in 2016, I felt like I had a pretty decent collection of semi interesting songs. So I decided to join Soundcloud with one very simple goal; I wanted a place my little creations could call home… just in case any of my friends or family ever asked. Ironically, that almost never happens. But what did happen is, I discovered an entire new world of music and music makers here in this community. I also quickly discovered just how inspiring, helpful and generous you folks are. People started offering up suggestions; some even going so far as to teach me mixing and mastering basics. And before I knew it, I was staring song 100 in the face, so utterly thrilled to be at this place in my life.
Here I am, writing this liner note, just a little teary-eyed over how much this all means to me; how much all of you mean to me. I’ve definitely found my bliss; and it just so happens that it came with an entire family of wonderful musician friends. So thank you for welcoming me so kindly, back when I was just a little whelp of a musician. I wouldn’t be here doing what I’m doing, if it wasn’t for your support over the years. :D
Now for some funny/silly news about myself. As confident as I may sound in my writings, I’m actually pretty shy by nature. I’ve never had the courage to offer up a piece I created, for purposes of a remix. But sheesh, if I don’t do that for something as celebratory as my 100th song, when am I going to do it? Haha. So without further delay (and only a few butterflies in the stomach), I offer my Soundcloud friends my first ever open remix opportunity. Here’s a link to the stems (please see the song description on Soundcloud for the link). I know it’s a strange one. But I figure it has enough variation, we could get some intriguing results.
One last thought. If there are any of you newer SC musicians out there... unsure in your abilities, questioning whether you should take a chance on this (or any other collab or remix for that matter).... The answer is a joyful 'Yes'.
I was scared silly, the first time I tried an open collab. I compared myself to the other musicians I heard in these playlists, and I seriously had my fears. But I created the first.. and it was a lot of fun... and I learned a lot. And then I tried another, and another. And every one of them was better than the last. It's all about practice makes perfect. And this is truly the best circle I've ever encountered, that happily embraces us practicers. So give it a shot. It's all good. :)
I look forward to hearing what you create. In the meantime, I sincerely hope you enjoy my 100th song, ‘Five-Score Fanciful Frequencies’. :)
Welcome to my sonic playground. I don't consider myself a skilled musician. I just sculpt sounds to quiet my mind... and
often end up pleasantly surprised. I'm all about joy, and silliness, and staying playful as I (refuse to) grow older. My songs help me remember that. :)
Thank you for taking the time to listen and share in my journey. Best wishes and all my love.

This 3rd installment of Belial Pelegrim’s TAFFATA project is once again filled to the brim in audio imagination and texture. It is my favorite so far, and definitely one of my top albums of the year. BP utilizes organic, symphonic, electronic, and experimental sounds with such craftsmanship that the listener is just left in awe on the most sublime of audio journeys. This is music made by someone having fun with all the sounds at his disposal, and his fun is a gift for us. Mood Exhibit

Once, in many moons, an album reaches down inside you and drags your soul on a quest to darker shores. This is that album!
Seconds in, I was hooked. I have heard nothing like this album before. A landscape of dark tapestries woven out the night itself, dusted with unfamiliar sonic shapes and colours that hypnotise and captivate; that bewitch and beguile! Thankyou Belial Pelegrim! Patrik Gryst
