about

I was recently invited to create an 'Industrial Chiptune bordering on insanity' for the 2nd LoM album, entitled 'Electric8bitland' (releasing 6/6). Just hearing about the project, my first thought was 'how does one go about making musical madness with nothing but cute 8-bit blips and beeps?' Of course in typical fashion, I ended up with something rather adorable, rather than bonkers. On the upside, I now want to play this game... very muchly. o.o

My story is about a lone elf battling the forces of evil in the ruins and catacombs deep below a now active volcano. Plumes of smoke billow up from the shattered mountain top; periodic explosions violently rock the passages below. And somewhere down on level 50, one really big, fiery fellow eagerly awaits our hero... like famished folks await the appetizers.

Having been a gamer since pong, I thought it would be fun to organize my track in brief (8-12 bar) sequential chapters. Let me know if it translates. :)

1. A Volcano Threatens the Land(Opening credits)
2. Can Anyone Save Us? (Meet our hero)
3. He Explores the Caverns Deep Below (Don't worry. It's safe... until level 5)
4. Oh No!!! Lava Beasts!!! (Our hero's first encounter)
5. Someone Must Destroy the Lava-Lord (Our hero fights the big boss)
6. Back to the Village to Celebrate (Game Developer credits)

I hope you enjoy my latest (utterly bizarre) creation, 'Elf Needs Food Badly'. :)

about

GrevusAnjl

Welcome to my sonic playground. I don't consider myself a skilled musician. I just sculpt sounds to quiet my mind... and often end up pleasantly surprised. I'm all about joy, and silliness, and staying playful as I (refuse to) grow older. My songs help me remember that. :)

Thank you for taking the time to listen and share in my journey. Best wishes and all my love.
